Possible Spoiler Plans for Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41

Possible Spoiler Plans for Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 – As WrestleMania 41 approaches, plans are shifting for Randy Orton following Kevin Owens’ withdrawal from their originally scheduled match. According to Cory Hays of BodySlam.net, current WWE creative calls for Orton to issue an open challenge during the two-night event, which takes place April 19 and 20 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Originally, Orton was set to face Owens on Night 1 of WrestleMania. However, that match was scrapped after Owens revealed during the April 4 episode of SmackDown that he would be out of action due to the need for neck surgery. WWE has not provided an exact timeline for his return.

Following Owens’ announcement, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis informed Orton that he was without a match for WrestleMania. In response, Orton delivered a thunderous RKO to Aldis—his second since returning to WWE television in November 2023. On the subsequent episode, Orton sarcastically suggested Aldis himself could step up to face him. Orton has since demanded to know the identity of his WrestleMania opponent by this week’s episode of SmackDown, warning that Aldis may be on the receiving end of another RKO if no answer is given.

The rumored open challenge has generated significant speculation regarding who may answer the call. Among the potential candidates are former AEW stars Aleister Black and Miro, both of whom recently left the company and are reportedly close to returning to WWE. Another option could be Solo Sikoa, who confronted Orton last week alongside Tama Tonga in a segment that ended with a tag team main event on SmackDown.

As of now, it remains unclear which night of WrestleMania 41 will feature Orton’s open challenge. WWE has yet to confirm the bout, but fans are expected to learn more during this Friday’s SmackDown.
