PAC Out of Action, Jon Moxley to Replace Him in Upcoming Trios Title Defense – PAC is officially sidelined due to an injury suffered on AEW Dynamite. Jon Moxley will replace him in the AEW Trios Title defense at AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru.
As noted, PAC sustained a legitimate injury during the April 9 episode of AEW Dynamite. The injury took place during his match against Swerve Strickland and led to the contest ending earlier than originally planned.
In an update delivered during the April 12 episode of AEW Collision, it was confirmed that PAC is medically unable to compete and will be out of action for the time being. This development also removes him from the scheduled AEW Trios Championship match at the upcoming AEW Dynamite: Spring BreakThru event.
AEW has announced that AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will step in to replace PAC in the six-man title defense. Moxley will team with Blackpool Combat Club members Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta as they defend the AEW Trios Titles against The Opps—Samoa Joe, HOOK, and Katsuyori Shibata.
This marks a notable shift in plans heading into Spring BreakThru, as PAC’s injury forces a new dynamic in what was already a high-profile Trios Title defense. AEW has not yet disclosed the nature or severity of PAC’s injury or an expected timetable for his return.
