Nick Wayne Makes History, RUSH Returns, and AEW Collision Highlights from April 17 – Nick Wayne wins the ROH Television Championship, RUSH makes his return, and Adam Cole defends the TNT Championship in a big night of AEW Collision action on April 17.
Nick Wayne Becomes ROH TV Champion
Nick Wayne made history on the April 17th episode of AEW Collision, capturing the ROH Television Championship in a hard-fought contest. Wayne secured the victory with a fisherman suplex, marking his first reign as ROH TV Champion. The title had been held by Komander for 119 days, with five successful title defenses. At just 18 years old, Wayne is now the youngest champion in AEW or ROH history.
RUSH and La Facción Ingobernable Dominate
RUSH and La Facción Ingobernable made their long-awaited return on the same episode. RUSH, Dralistico, and The Beast Mortos defeated KM, Rosario Grillo, and LSG in a dominant display. This marked RUSH’s first match since February 8th, showcasing the faction’s continued dominance.
Adam Cole Defends TNT Championship
In a big title match, Adam Cole defended his TNT Championship against Claudio Castagnoli. Cole narrowly escaped with the win after trapping Castagnoli in a crucifix pin. Post-match, Castagnoli was visibly frustrated, throwing a temper tantrum and destroying the announce table. This loss extends Castagnoli’s streak of four consecutive singles championship losses in AEW.
Trent Beretta’s Shocking Return
Trent Beretta made an unexpected return after the tag team match between the Don Callis Family (Josh Alexander & Konosuke Takeshita) and The Conglomeration (Tomohiro Ishii & Rocky Romero). Beretta’s return included an unexpected twist, as he reunited with Don Callis and persuaded his former tag team partner, Rocky Romero, to turn on Ishii and assist in a brutal attack using a wrench. Beretta’s return follows a 250-day absence due to neck surgery in August 2024.
