Kevin Owens Reportedly Undergoes Neck Surgery Expected to Sideline Him 12 to 15 Months – Kevin Owens is expected to miss over a year of in-ring action following neck surgery, which reportedly took place on April 7. The WWE star revealed the extent of his injury in a recent interview.

Kevin Owens is officially off WWE television for the foreseeable future after undergoing neck surgery, which is expected to sideline him for a significant amount of time.

Owens revealed the extent of his injury during an appearance on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, noting that he believes the issue began in January during a regular episode of WWE SmackDown. He explained that he had previously undergone an MRI in December, which didn’t show any major concerns aside from mild to moderate spinal stenosis—an issue common among professional wrestlers.

In an update from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Owens underwent surgery on April 7, just days before WrestleMania 41. The procedure, though not officially confirmed by WWE, typically results in a recovery window of 12 to 15 months, depending on the severity and post-surgery rehabilitation process.

Owens, a former Universal Champion and one of WWE’s most decorated modern stars, was originally scheduled to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. However, following the announcement of his injury on SmackDown, plans were changed, leaving Orton without a confirmed opponent for the event. Karrion Kross has since expressed interest in filling that spot, but WWE has yet to make an official decision.

Despite the setback, Owens appeared in good spirits during his interview, sharing that he had hoped the injury was minor but ultimately chose to take the necessary steps for long-term health.

As of this writing, WWE has not issued an official statement on Owens’ recovery timeline, but all indications suggest that fans may not see “The Prizefighter” back in action until mid-to-late 2026.

WrestlingAttitude.Com sends best wishes to Kevin Owens for a full and speedy recovery.
