Current Plans for WrestleMania 41 Opening Matches – While WWE has officially locked in the main events for both nights of WrestleMania 41, the company has yet to finalize how each night will begin. According to a new update from WrestleVotes Radio on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, current internal plans have penciled in opening matches for both shows, but they remain subject to last-minute changes.
As of this past Monday’s RAW, WWE is currently planning to open Night 1 with WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER defending his title against Jey Uso. For Night 2, the projected opener is the highly anticipated WWE Women’s World Championship Triple Threat match featuring IYO SKY, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley.
Despite these plans, WrestleVotes was quick to note that neither match is officially confirmed as the opening bout and could still be shifted on the day of the show. WWE has a history of making late changes to match orders — as cited in the report, WrestleMania 35 was originally set to open with AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton before WWE opted to kick things off with Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins just 15 minutes before showtime.
While the opening slots remain fluid, WWE has confirmed that Night 1 will close with the triple threat between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk, while Night 2 will be headlined by Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena.
WrestleMania 41 takes place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20, with both nights expected to feature high-profile matches and major surprises.
