Cody Rhodes Wants Another Match with The Rock – During a recent appearance on Pardon My Take, the Undisputed WWE Champion spoke candidly about his ongoing tension with The Final Boss, The Rock, who famously pinned Rhodes during the first night of WrestleMania 40. The tag team match saw The Rock and Roman Reigns defeat Rhodes and Seth Rollins — a moment that still sits with Rhodes months later.
“Ah. He did [pin me]. I’m a bit of an ego-centric individual that wants his win back,” Rhodes said, referring to The Rock’s decisive fall over him. Despite defeating Roman Reigns the following night to become champion, Rhodes made it clear that The Rock remains unfinished business.
Rhodes expressed his belief that The Rock should compete in more than just one high-profile match. “I think he’s due for more than one match, and I would love to be penciled in on one of those,” he continued. “Obviously, that schedule is as intense as it gets, but he’s still so involved with WWE.”
He praised The Rock’s ability to connect with fans despite his Hollywood commitments. “Even though we may not like one another, the thing I do like about him is instantly, no matter what he’s done, record-breaking Disney movie, whatever he did that weekend and showed up, when you look at him, you can tell, oh, brother is a wrestler.”
Rhodes believes The Rock still has two big matches left — one with Roman Reigns, and one with himself. “Maybe it’s the greatest match we never get because timing or whatever it may be,” Rhodes said about a Rock vs. Reigns clash. “And I think we need to finish our own story with him and myself.”
Rhodes remains focused on the future but made it clear: the score with The Rock is far from settled.
