Chris Jericho Expected to Exit ROH Following Loss at AEW Dynasty – After dropping the ROH World Title to Bandido at AEW Dynasty, Chris Jericho is expected to step away from the Ring of Honor brand and take a break from TV during his upcoming Fozzy tour.
Chris Jericho’s time in Ring of Honor appears to be coming to an end following his loss to Bandido at AEW Dynasty 2025. Jericho dropped the ROH World Championship to Bandido at the pay-per-view event and later addressed the defeat on AEW Dynamite, where he stated he was “going away.”
According to a report from Fightful Select, the plan is for Jericho to move on from Ring of Honor now that his storyline with Bandido has concluded. The outlet noted, “Chris Jericho is expected to largely move on from Ring of Honor after his feud with Bandido ends.” This shift aligns with Jericho’s upcoming commitments with his band Fozzy, who are set to begin their spring tour on April 17 and wrap up on May 12.
Despite the tour, Jericho has only one Wednesday date scheduled, meaning his Dynamite appearances are still possible if AEW plans to use him. However, Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Jericho is opting to take some time off from television altogether.
Meltzer wrote, “Jericho is also taking time off. He has a Fozzy tour 4/17 to 5/12. But he has Wednesdays off. When this tour was set up, the idea is he’d be in for Dynamite. However, he’s feeling it’s the right time for a break and there’s no time frame known or that likely will be talked about until a ‘surprise’ return.”
The decision to crown Bandido as ROH World Champion had reportedly been in place for some time, with internal discussions dating back to his return to AEW earlier this year. Bandido is expected to serve as a central figure in ROH moving forward.
While Jericho’s ROH tenure appears to be over for now, fans should not expect him to disappear completely. His future AEW appearances will likely be more limited in the short term, especially with the tour and his preference for time off, but a return down the line remains firmly on the table.
