That night, she suffered a loss to Liv Morgan in a Steel Cage Match on RAW, with Morgan later claiming she had “retired” the former Women’s World Champion. Nearly a year later, Lynch responded in the best way possible—by defeating Morgan on the grandest stage in WWE.
Valkyria had originally been scheduled to team with Bayley, but Bayley was ruled out after being attacked prior to WrestleMania 41 Saturday. With her longtime mentor unable to compete, Valkyria’s fortunes changed drastically with the return of “The Man.”
The match saw all four women deliver a hard-fought contest, but the finish came when Lynch dropped Morgan with the Manhandle Slam to secure the pinfall and the titles for her team. It was an emotional moment for Valkyria, who not only captured her first WWE championship but did so alongside one of Ireland’s most iconic wrestlers.
Following the victory, WWE confirmed that Lynch and Valkyria will head to NXT on April 22 to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley.
