4/18 WWE SmackDown: John Cena Set to Appear, Tag Title Match, Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal – WWE has confirmed a stacked lineup for the April 18 episode of SmackDown, including a highly anticipated appearance from John Cena as the road to WrestleMania 41 intensifies.
Cena, who is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania, will be live in the building next Friday. With tensions building and time running out before their blockbuster title match in Las Vegas, Cena’s appearance is expected to push the storyline closer to its final chapter before the grand event.
In addition to Cena’s return, WWE also announced the return of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. This annual tradition typically offers a platform for undercard Superstars to shine ahead of WrestleMania weekend, and this year’s installment promises more of the same as competitors vie for the coveted trophy named after the Hall of Famer.
Another major development sees the WWE Tag Team Championship match take place on SmackDown instead of WrestleMania 41, suggesting previous plans for the division may have been scrapped. Champions The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) will defend their titles against the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin), who are chasing their first WWE gold.
Also announced is a six-woman tag team match as Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre, and Piper Niven team up to face Zelina Vega, Kayden Carter, and Katana Chance.
Confirmed Lineup for WWE SmackDown – April 18, 2025:
- John Cena to appear
- Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
- WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Street Profits (c) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns
- Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre & Piper Niven vs. Zelina Vega, Kayden Carter & Katana Chance
The April 18 edition of SmackDown airs live from Seattle, WA, just one week before WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium.
