The Undertaker Weighs In on John Cena’s Potential Final WWE Title Run

The Undertaker Weighs In on John Cena’s Potential Final WWE Title Run – On a recent episode of his Six Feet Under podcast, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker shared his thoughts on John Cena’s retirement tour and the possibility of Cena winning the WWE Championship one last time.

While The Undertaker acknowledged that giving Cena another title reign might not be the best business decision, he admitted it would be a special moment for fans.

“I don’t know that it’s best for business, but I do know it would be a very special moment,” Undertaker said. “I think a lot of people would be very pleased, and personally, I wouldn’t have a problem with it if it does happen.”

He also touched on Ric Flair’s long-standing championship record, pointing out that Flair had some unrecognized title changes throughout his career.

“Flair’s had that record for so long—although, you know, Ric will tell you there were a couple of times no one even knows about where he dropped the title and won it back,” he explained. “I know for sure because he wouldn’t have gotten out of the country if he hadn’t. It’s a great story.”

Undertaker expressed his appreciation for Cena’s farewell run, hoping it becomes a trend for top-tier wrestlers in the future.

“I love that Cena is doing this farewell tour, and I think for people of that caliber, hopefully, this becomes the model moving forward,” he said. “Even though they don’t do as many live events anymore, getting to go out on a tour where fans know where they can see you one last time and you can address those audiences—that’s special. I love that.”

However, The Undertaker questioned the logistics of Cena winning the title, asking what would happen next.

“By no means is this going to change his legacy in any way. But not only does he have to win it, then he’s got to lose it. So what do you do? Does he retire with the belt? That doesn’t sit right with me. You tend to go out on your shield or have that defining moment.”

Ultimately, The Undertaker didn’t take a strong stance on whether Cena should win the championship, stating that whatever happens, fans will embrace it.

“I don’t have a strong feeling about what’s best here. However it goes, it’s going to be good,” he concluded. “People will get to see him and share that moment. I won’t be upset if he gets it, and I won’t be upset if he doesn’t. What I do know is that the people are going to be excited to see him.”
