Saraya: I’ll Return Eventually, But AEW Doesn’t Need Me Now – Saraya has remained absent from AEW television since October, citing personal time off as the reason for her hiatus. While fans have speculated about her potential return, the former AEW Women’s Champion recently addressed her status during an appearance on Lightweights Podcast with Joe Vulpis.
When asked about returning to the ring, Saraya admitted that she doesn’t see a clear spot for herself in AEW’s current landscape. “I feel like at this age and time, there isn’t really a spot for me right now,” she explained. “I feel like everybody’s got their own thing… I love wrestling, I will be back at work at some point. But right now, it’s good. They don’t need me.”
Her comments indicate that while she isn’t ruling out a return, she doesn’t see an urgent need to insert herself into AEW’s ongoing storylines.
Beyond her absence, Saraya has also hinted that the end of her wrestling career is approaching. In a separate interview, she acknowledged that retirement is on the horizon. “I’m not gonna be in wrestling forever. I’m coming to the end of it, and it’s very soon,” she revealed. “And I don’t wanna go out being like, ‘I need to be on top.’”
While she hasn’t confirmed an exact timeline for stepping away, it’s clear that Saraya is considering her future beyond wrestling. Whether she returns for a final run or quietly transitions away from the ring remains to be seen.
