Rey Fenix Reportedly Signs with WWE – Rey Fenix has officially signed with WWE, according to a new report from Fightful Select Espanol. Fenix, who departed AEW in March after a souring relationship with the company, had not wrestled since July. He previously hinted at mistreatment in a now-deleted social media post. In 2024, AEW reportedly extended his contract to account for injury time after he and his tag team partner Penta had been in discussions with WWE. Penta entered free agency in December and made his WWE debut on the January 13th episode of RAW, quickly becoming a featured member of the roster.
The report confirms that Fenix has signed with WWE, following a vignette aired during the March 14th episode of SmackDown, which hinted at his arrival. While the plan is for Fenix to debut on SmackDown, there is currently no word on the exact timing of his debut.
Fenix had been with AEW since 2019, where he, alongside Penta, captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship and ROH World Tag Team Championship, among other accolades. He is also a former AEW International Champion. As more information becomes available, WrestlingAttitude will provide updates.
