More AEW Talent Expected to Exit as Contracts Expire – AEW is reportedly set to part ways with more talent in the coming weeks as the company shifts its approach to roster management.
Previously, AEW would opt not to renew contracts but allow talent to sit on the sidelines for extended periods rather than outright releasing them. However, that strategy has changed, with the company recently releasing Ricky Starks, Miro, Malakai Black, and Rey Fenix over the past month.
Dave Meltzer reported that several wrestlers are not expected to have their contracts renewed when they expire. The names mentioned include Abadon, Zak Knight, and Nick Comoroto, all of whom have seen little to no television time in recent months.
Abadon last competed in AEW during her match with Julia Hart but has remained active on Ring of Honor TV, with her most recent appearance occurring at an ROH TV taping on February 8th. Meanwhile, Nick Comoroto has been sidelined since August 2024 due to hip resurfacing surgery. Zak Knight, the brother of WWE’s Paige (Saraya), has not had a notable presence on AEW programming.
This news follows a previous report from Bryan Alvarez, who noted that more AEW talent would be let go in the coming weeks, signaling an ongoing roster adjustment within the company.
