Miro Not Expected to Make Imminent Return to WWE – While WWE is reportedly interested in re-signing Miro, fans shouldn’t expect to see him back in the company right away.
Miro, who was recently granted his release from AEW, is believed to be on WWE’s radar. As previously reported by Dave Meltzer, WWE has already discussed potential creative plans for him. However, his return is not expected in the immediate future.
During the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio on SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, it was noted that while WWE is open to bringing back Miro, no deal is imminent.
“We are told there is interest within WWE to bring back Miro, aka the former Rusev, to the company. One source said nothing is currently imminent, with the expectation that a deal could be reached towards the end of the calendar year. Miro was in the WWE from 2010 to 2020 where he was released as part of budget cuts in April of that year. He is a former three-time United States Champion and saw the highlights of his WWE tenure come with his WrestleMania 31 match versus John Cena as well as the incredibly over Rusev day gimmick he had in 2018. TC, again, we don’t expect anything imminent, anything over the next few months before we end this 2025 expect to see Rusev back,” the report stated.
As “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, Miro was part of WWE from 2010 until his release in April 2020 due to budget cuts. During his tenure, he captured the United States Championship three times and had notable runs, including his WrestleMania 31 match against John Cena and the popular “Rusev Day” gimmick in 2018.
While there is interest in bringing him back, fans may have to wait until late 2025 before seeing him return to WWE.
