Mariah May’s AEW Contract Nearing Expiration – Mariah May’s time with AEW may be coming to an end, as a new report from Fightful Select indicates that her current contract is set to expire this summer. However, AEW is expected to make every effort to retain her, and if she becomes a free agent, WWE could potentially pursue her.
The report also notes that May’s contract may include option years, which would allow AEW President Tony Khan to extend her deal. An anonymous AEW source suggested that option years are likely part of May’s contract, considering the company’s decision to prominently feature her despite being on a short-term agreement. Neither AEW nor May has provided an official statement on the matter.
May was last seen on AEW television at Revolution on March 9, where she lost the AEW Women’s World Championship to “Timeless” Toni Storm. The match served as the culmination of a long-running storyline between the two, which began shortly after May’s arrival in AEW.
After an impressive run in STARDOM, May signed with AEW in November 2023 and was immediately paired with Storm as her enthusiastic fan and protege. She eventually turned on Storm after winning the Owen Hart Cup, leading to their first championship match at AEW All In in August, where May won the title. Storm later returned in late 2024, setting the stage for their final clash at Revolution.
It remains to be seen whether AEW will exercise any potential contract options to keep May in the company or if she will explore other opportunities in WWE or elsewhere.
