Kevin Owens Defeats Sami Zayn in Brutal Unsanctioned Match, Randy Orton Returns – Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn delivered a grueling, no-holds-barred battle at WWE Elimination Chamber, reigniting their long-standing rivalry in a violent Unsanctioned Match. The two former friends, now bitter enemies, left everything in the ring as they engaged in a chaotic and brutal fight that saw multiple weapons come into play.
The feud between Owens and Zayn escalated after Owens attacked Zayn with a Package Piledriver on the February 3 episode of RAW. Their issues culminated in Saturday’s match, where the atmosphere was set with dimmed arena lights and a referee dressed in all black, emphasizing the intensity of the fight.
Chairs, hockey sticks, and tables were all used as both men relentlessly battered each other. Zayn sent Owens through two tables in the crowd, but Owens responded by knocking Zayn off the top rope and sending him crashing through another table. Owens later connected with a vicious Brainbuster onto a chair, but Zayn retaliated with a suplex onto the same weapon.
The match’s intensity only grew when Owens strategically used the referee to avoid Zayn’s Helluva Kick, leading to accidental contact. Owens hit a Stunner, but referee Charles Robinson’s count only reached two before Owens took matters into his own hands, leveling Robinson with a clothesline. The violence escalated further when barbed wire became involved. Zayn used a barbed-wire-wrapped chair to his advantage, delivering a Blue Thunder Bomb onto it. However, Owens managed to turn the tide, hitting a Pop-Up Powerbomb before taking things to an even more brutal level.
Owens wrapped a chair around Zayn’s head and repeatedly slammed him into the ring post. He followed up with two devastating Pop-Up Powerbombs onto the apron before rolling Zayn back into the ring for the pinfall victory.
After the match, officials tended to Zayn, eventually loading him onto a stretcher. Owens, still unsatisfied, attacked security and attempted to do more damage by exposing the bare floor. However, the returning Randy Orton made a surprise appearance, making his first WWE appearance since November 8, when Owens took him out with a piledriver. Orton took the fight to Owens, dropping him with an RKO and nearly delivering a Punt Kick before security intervened. Orton responded by taking down multiple security guards with RKOs before the segment concluded.
Owens may have won the battle against Zayn, but with Orton back in the mix, his war inside WWE is far from over.
