Kevin Knight Officially Signs with AEW – Kevin Knight has officially joined AEW, as announced by Tony Khan following his match against Jay White on the March 29 episode of AEW Collision.
PWInsider reports that Knight had a tryout at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando several weeks ago. However, he ultimately decided to sign with AEW.
Knight began his wrestling career in 2019 before joining NJPW in 2020 as part of the young lion system. Over the years, he honed his craft and eventually formed a tag team with KUSHIDA in 2022. The duo captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship twice, with their most recent reign ending at Wrestle Kingdom 19 in a four-way ladder match.
Since leaving NJPW, Knight has competed in several independent promotions, including Maple Leaf Pro and GCW. Now, with his AEW signing official, he looks to establish himself on a bigger stage.
“Congratulations, it’s official!” Tony Khan wrote on social media. “After a fantastic performance at Saturday Night #AEWCollision, @Jet2Flyy Kevin Knight is All Elite!”
Fans can now look forward to seeing what Knight brings to AEW’s expanding roster.
