Jon Moxley Retains in Controversial Fashion At AEW Revolution

Jon Moxley Retains in Controversial Fashion at AEW Revolution – The AEW Revolution main event delivered a stunning mix of brutality, betrayal, and high-stakes action as Jon Moxley successfully defended the AEW World Championship against Cope—only for Christian Cage to make a shocking move mid-match.

Before the bout, Cope systematically eliminated Moxley’s Death Riders allies to ensure a fair fight. However, despite his efforts, outside interference still played a pivotal role in the match’s outcome.

As the contest reached its closing moments, the referee was inadvertently taken out, leaving the match vulnerable to outside involvement. Wheeler Yuta stormed the ring, delivering a Busaiku Knee to Cope. Just as it seemed Yuta had shifted the momentum, Jay White rushed in to neutralize him, only to accidentally strike Cope with Moxley’s briefcase. But that wasn’t enough as Cope went “Hulk mode” and unleashed a flurry of Spears to Moxley, appearing poised to claim victory.

Then came the night’s biggest twist. A hooded figure yanked the referee out of the ring, revealing himself to be none other than Christian Cage. With his AEW contract in hand, Cage cashed in on the spot, transforming the championship match into a Triple Threat. He nearly capitalized on the chaos, hitting Cope with a Spear followed by a Killswitch, but Moxley had other plans. The champion trapped Cage in a bulldog choke, rendering him unconscious to retain the AEW World Championship.

Moxley’s celebration was short-lived. As he exited the ring, Prince Nana confronted him, creating a diversion. From the crowd, Swerve Strickland launched himself off the guardrail with a devastating Swerve Stomp, leaving Moxley laid out in the aftermath of an unforgettable AEW Revolution.
