Jon Moxley Delivers Brutal Attack on Swerve Strickland – Swerve Strickland may have earned his shot at the AEW World Championship, but Jon Moxley made it clear that his road to the title won’t be an easy one.
At AEW Revolution, Strickland defeated Ricochet to become the number one contender for the AEW World Title. However, before he gets his opportunity, Moxley must first defend the championship against Cope in a Street Fight on the March 19 episode of Dynamite. Despite having a tough battle ahead, Moxley is already focused on Strickland and made his intentions clear in brutal fashion.
During the March 15 episode of AEW Collision, Strickland cut a promo addressing both Moxley and Cope, acknowledging his own injuries—including a busted eardrum from his match against Ricochet at AEW Revolution. However, before he could finish, Moxley appeared from behind and ambushed him with a crowbar, delivering a vicious attack.
Not stopping there, Moxley followed up with a brutal Curb Stomp, leaving Strickland down as medical personnel rushed in to check on him. The assault sent a clear message, as Moxley—who still needs to defend the AEW World Title against Cope in a Street Fight on the March 19 episode of Dynamite—is already looking ahead to his potential next challenger.
With Strickland badly beaten and Moxley making a statement, the AEW World Title picture is heating up. If Moxley retains against Cope, Strickland will have to recover quickly to stand a chance against the reigning champion.
