John Cena Delivers Scathing Promo on RAW, Confronts Cody Rhodes – John Cena kicked off tonight’s episode of WWE RAW in Brussels, Belgium, with a venomous promo that highlighted his resentment toward the WWE Universe. Entering to his iconic theme, “The Time Is Now,” Cena was met with overwhelming boos and “John Cena sucks” chants. The hostility escalated as the crowd chanted “You sold out,” referencing his recent alliance with The Rock and his heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Cena wasted no time addressing the fans, stating, “When someone is properly grounded in life, they shouldn’t have to look outside themselves for approval.” He declared that he had been in an abusive relationship with the WWE audience for 25 years, accusing them of bullying him and treating him as a puppet. The fans responded with profane chants, to which Cena fired back, saying he was neither a babyface nor a heel—just a human being. He claimed the fans had never appreciated him, even when he worked hard and racked up wins.
As the crowd continued to heckle him, Cena insisted that nothing he ever did was enough. He said he initially wanted to walk away on good terms, but the fans ruined it as they always had. When the audience sang “Goodbye,” Cena accused them of selfishness, stating, “Each and every one of you take, and you only care about yourselves.”
The tension escalated when fans began chanting for Cody Rhodes, whom Cena dismissed as “the brand new shiny toy.” He then turned his frustration toward the supporters who wore his merchandise, accusing them of using his motto for their own self-validation rather than truly supporting him. “All you’ve ever done is sit on your ass and watch me be great,” Cena declared before stating he was breaking up with the audience.
At that moment, Cody Rhodes’ music hit, and the Undisputed WWE Champion confronted Cena. Cody acknowledged that the fans had given Cena their worst, but also their best, because he was special and could handle it. Cena attempted to respond with a condescending “Listen, kid,” but Cody quickly shut him down, correcting him with “It’s certainly not kid. It’s WWE Champion.”
Cody then delivered a stinging message, stating that he wanted to face John Cena at WrestleMania 41, not the bitter and resentful version standing before him. He ended his promo with a harsh warning: “Go find John Cena. I want to wrestle him at WrestleMania 41. Not this whiny bitch.” With that, Cody exited to chants of his name, leaving Cena alone as the crowd once again sang the “Goodbye” song.
Cena is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41, a match he earned by winning the Elimination Chamber. However, with his new mindset and alliance with The Rock, Cena’s intentions at the biggest show of the year remain uncertain.
