Goldberg Begins Training for Retirement Match – Goldberg has officially begun preparations for his highly anticipated retirement match, which he hopes will take place in the summer of 2025. The WWE Hall of Famer’s last in-ring appearance was at Elimination Chamber 2022, where he was defeated by Roman Reigns.
In October, Goldberg made a surprise appearance at the Bad Blood event, where he confronted World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER. During an interview with Ariel Helwani, Goldberg discussed potential opponents for his farewell match, mentioning the likes of Bron Breakker and GUNTHER. Goldberg emphasized that facing GUNTHER could represent a symbolic “passing of the torch” moment.
It was previously reported that the initial plan for Goldberg’s final match was to be against GUNTHER, possibly following the latter’s loss of the Intercontinental Championship. However, it remains unclear if those plans are still in place.
As seen below, Goldberg recently shared an Instagram post announcing the beginning of his training for his in-ring return. He revealed that he is working with several trainers, including Kevin Von Erich and Tyrone Spong.
“And the grind begins… assembling my in-ring crew 🤫,” Goldberg wrote in the post.
WrestlingAttitude will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available about Goldberg’s retirement match.
