Cody Rhodes and IYO SKY Set for Tonight’s RAW Appearances – Appearances by two of WWE’s top champions have been added to the lineup for RAW tonight.
WWE is at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” — Madison Square Garden in New York City — for tonight’s RAW. This afternoon, it was announced that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Women’s World Champion IYO SKY will each be appearing. The news was announced via a video from RAW General Manager Adam Pearce:
Rhodes was also on SmackDown last Friday, responding to John Cena’s heel turn for the first time. They are set to face off at WrestleMania 41 with the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line.
“John, I know you’re watching. I know that you think that your successor had to look like you, had to talk like you, had to be like you, had to live like you. Well, the next one doesn’t look like the last one, John,” Rhodes said on SmackDown. “And you are convinced that you are the last of your kind. You are not. I am standing right here. I am holding this [title belt] above my head as if it weighs nothing. And at WrestleMania 41, I will do the same. John Cena, clearly you want some. Come and get some.”
SKY defeated Rhea Ripley in last week’s main event to win the Women’s World Championship. She’s currently set to defend the title against Bianca Belair at WrestleMania, but we’ll see if that becomes a triple threat with Ripley added.
