Alberto El Patron Suspended for 180 Days Following Incident at AAA Event in Tijuana – Alberto El Patron, formerly known as Alberto Del Rio, has been handed a 180-day suspension by the Tijuana Wrestling Commission following a disruptive incident at a recent AAA event.
On March 14, 2025, Patron was involved in a match against El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. in Tijuana. During the match, fans reportedly began throwing coins at Patron, which led to the wrestler entering the crowd and throwing a chair in retaliation. This action escalated further when another chair was thrown into the crowd, striking an elderly woman who was subsequently injured and hospitalized.
The Tijuana Wrestling Commission held an extraordinary meeting on March 17 to discuss the incident. As a result, they determined that Patron’s actions violated the city’s wrestling regulations, leading to his 180-day suspension. The commission issued an official notice outlining the suspension and reaffirmed that the decision would be enforced across the city.
This suspension effectively bars Patron from participating in any wrestling events within Tijuana for the next six months. The commission’s notice also serves as a warning to other wrestlers about maintaining control during matches to avoid similar incidents.
As of now, El Patron has not publicly commented on the suspension, and it remains unclear if he plans to appeal the decision.
