AEW Dynamite Viewership Rises on 3/5, Demo Declines – The March 5th episode of AEW Dynamite saw a slight increase in viewership but experienced a drop in the key demographic rating.
According to Programming Insider, the show attracted 600,000 viewers on TBS, a marginal increase from the 598,000 viewers the previous week. However, the 18-49 demographic rating declined from 0.18 on February 26th to 0.13 this week. Despite the dip, AEW Dynamite ranked 8th among cable programs for the night.
This week’s show featured several key moments leading into AEW Revolution. The episode opened with a contract signing between Swerve Strickland and Ricochet for their upcoming match. The segment set the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive showdown.
In singles action, The Rated R Superstar Cope defeated Wheeler Yuta. After the match, Cope teased a Conchairto but ultimately spared Yuta. The post-match segment saw Yuta walk out on Jon Moxley after being berated for his loss, signaling potential dissension within the Blackpool Combat Club.
The women’s division saw Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford secure a victory over Thunder Rosa and Kris Statlander, continuing the ongoing rivalries in AEW’s women’s division.
The main event featured a high-profile tag team match as Ricochet and Kazuchika Okada teamed up to defeat Swerve Strickland and Brody King. The match served as a preview for both upcoming singles bouts at AEW Revolution, adding further intrigue to the pay-per-view.
