AEW Considering Title Unification for International and Continental Championships – AEW’s men’s division currently features multiple singles titles, including the AEW World Championship, TNT Championship, Continental Championship, and International Championship. With Kazuchika Okada holding the AEW Continental Championship and Kenny Omega set to challenge Konosuke Takeshita for the International Championship at Revolution, speculation has grown about the possibility of a title unification match.
Omega vs. Takeshita has been heavily teased for All In: Texas, and if Omega captures the International Championship while Okada retains the Continental Championship, both could enter the event as champions. This has led to discussions among fans about a potential title merger.
According to Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about any internal talks regarding unifying the two championships. He reported that “numerous pitches” for unification have been made over the past several months, and when he inquired, he was told the idea had “plenty of credibility.”
While nothing has been confirmed, the possibility of a unification bout remains a topic of interest as AEW looks to refine its title landscape.
