Update on Roman Reigns’ WWE Return – Roman Reigns’ return to WWE television is officially set, with The Tribal Chief scheduled for the March 21 (Bologna, Italy) and March 28 episodes of SmackDown (London, England). While his in-ring status remains unclear, these appearances mark his first since Royal Rumble 2025.
Reigns was eliminated from the Royal Rumble by Seth Rollins and attacked afterward, setting the stage for a WrestleMania 41 triple threat match involving Rollins and CM Punk. Following the Rumble, RAW announced that Reigns would be “out of action for the foreseeable future.” However, reports confirmed that this was a storyline absence rather than a legitimate injury.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE planned this hiatus to keep Reigns from competing at Elimination Chamber, avoiding the possibility of him being pinned or submitted before WrestleMania 41.
Now that his return is official, Reigns has also teased his next move. In a post on Twitter (X), he wrote:
“Greatness is coming to Bologna and London. ☝🏽
Your Tribal Chief has business to attend to. Receipts are coming…”
Reigns’ reference to “receipts” suggests he may seek retribution against Rollins and Punk ahead of WrestleMania 41. With just weeks remaining before the event, fans can expect tensions to escalate as the main event takes shape.
