Update on Demolition’s Potential WWE Hall of Fame Induction – As noted, Ax and Smash of Demolition have officially signed WWE Legends contracts, bringing an end to their long-standing dispute with the company. The legendary tag team, known for their dominant run in the late 1980s, had been at odds with WWE for decades due to their departure and various legal battles, including disputes over the Demolition trademark.
With this new deal in place, WWE now has the rights to license and merchandise both Ax and Smash, as well as the Demolition brand. This move allows the company to produce new action figures, apparel, and other collectibles featuring the duo. While Demolition has been featured in past WWE projects, such as the WWE 12 video game and limited merchandise releases, this marks the first time in years that WWE can fully capitalize on their legacy.
Despite their status as one of the most dominant tag teams in WWE history, Demolition has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Their record-setting reign as WWF Tag Team Champions stood for over 28 years before being surpassed by The New Day in 2016. Under WWE’s current leadership, there have been discussions regarding their potential induction, though no official decision has been announced.
It is also unclear whether WWE would consider including Crush, portrayed by Brian Adams, in a potential Hall of Fame induction. He was briefly part of Demolition before branching off into other roles, including runs in the Nation of Domination and WCW’s Kronik.
We will provide updates on the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame as more details emerge.
