Two Big Matches Set for AEW Revolution – The February 26 episode of AEW Dynamite delivered major developments, particularly in the ongoing rivalry between Swerve Strickland and Ricochet. The two men reached an agreement for a highly anticipated rematch at AEW Revolution, with a major stipulation added—whoever wins will earn a shot at the AEW World Championship.
After accepting the match, Ricochet left the scene, leading to a moment of tension between Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana. Nana, who has been a key figure in Strickland’s career, expressed frustration, reminding Strickland of the sacrifices he has made on his behalf. However, he made it clear that their alliance could be in jeopardy if Strickland does not retrieve his robe from Ricochet. This adds an extra layer of drama heading into their match at AEW Revolution, as Strickland will have more than just a title shot on the line—his relationship with Nana may also be at stake.
The night’s main event featured Konosuke Takeshita defending his AEW International Championship against Orange Cassidy. The fast-paced, hard-hitting battle kept the audience engaged, particularly in the closing moments. Cassidy countered one of Takeshita’s tombstone attempts with a jackknife pin, nearly pulling off the victory. However, Takeshita quickly regained control, reversing an Orange Punch attempt and delivering his devastating Raging Fire finisher to secure the win.
With this victory, Takeshita now moves forward to defend his title against Kenny Omega at AEW Revolution as part of the International Championship Series. This upcoming match will mark their second singles bout in AEW, following their intense clash at All Out 2023.
