Toni Storm Reclaims AEW Women’s Championship at Grand Slam Australia

Toni Storm Reclaims AEW Women’s Championship at Grand Slam Australia – Toni Storm is once again the AEW Women’s World Champion after defeating Mariah May in the main event of AEW Grand Slam Australia. This victory marks Storm’s fourth reign with the title, ending May’s reign at 174 days. May had originally won the championship from Storm at AEW All In 2024 and successfully defended it seven times before this loss.

The match began with May making her entrance first, while Storm arrived in blue attire featuring the Australian flag. The two wasted no time engaging in a fierce battle, exchanging punches before Storm took control with a Thesz Press. May responded with a Slingblade and a shotgun dropkick. Storm then unleashed a series of seven German suplexes, but May countered her offense by dropping her onto the apron and delivering a dropkick into the barricade.

After a commercial break, Storm rallied with powerful clotheslines and locked in an STF, only for May to escape by biting Storm’s arm. Storm applied the hold again, but May reached the ropes. On the apron, May avoided Storm’s hip attack and hit the Mayday on the floor. Back in the ring, May delivered a top-rope shotgun dropkick, followed by a hip attack and an attempted Storm Zero, but Storm reversed into the Mayday for a nearfall.

Storm intensified her attack with three consecutive hip attacks and a Storm Zero, but May kicked out. May feigned injury, then hit a back suplex and two Maydays, nearly securing victory. She attempted a top-rope move, but Storm countered with a powerbomb and another Storm Zero. May rolled to the floor, forcing Storm to drag her back in. In a final exchange, May landed her own Storm Zero and went for Mayday, but Storm countered with an inside cradle to capture the title.

Storm’s latest championship victory further cements her status as one of AEW’s top competitors. With this win, the question now is: who will step up to challenge the four-time AEW Women’s World Champion?
