The Undertaker Shares Praise for Ricky Starks – Ricky Starks made his highly anticipated WWE NXT debut this week, delivering a bold statement about his arrival. In his promo, Starks proclaimed that if NXT represents the future of wrestling, then it needs a superstar of the future. He also declared himself the top free agent, vowing to shake things up.
The timing of his debut coincided with The Undertaker being on Busted Open Radio, where he was speaking with Bully Ray. While reacting to Starks’ debut, The Deadman shared some insight into their history, which dates back to 2016. He revealed that they first met at a gym while he was preparing for his match against Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32.
“Yeah, I’m training at this gym, and I notice this kid there every day. Doesn’t say anything. Really respectful. As the training went along, we needed different spotters and different help. He was always right there,” Undertaker recalled. “Finally, we struck up a conversation, and he told me he was trying to break into the business. I kind of talked to him about different things. On one of the [Royal] Rumbles that Michelle [McCool] was a surprise guest in, she wanted to get in the ring, and he came down and trained with her.”
Undertaker noted that he hadn’t seen Starks in over a year and was caught off guard by his WWE arrival. However, he spoke highly of Starks, calling him a “good and respectful kid” and sharing that their conversations had always been positive.
Starks’ debut in NXT marks a new chapter in his career, and with his proven talent and high-profile connections, his future in WWE will be one to watch.
