Shawn Michaels Thinks He Has “One or Two Matches” Left – Shawn Michaels may be retired from in-ring competition, but he reportedly believes he still has “one or two matches” left in him.
Michaels officially retired in 2010 after his legendary Career vs. Streak match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. However, he briefly returned to the ring at WWE Crown Jewel 2018, teaming with Triple H to face The Undertaker and Kane. That match remains his last official bout, and it was widely reported—most notably by Conrad Thompson—that WWE paid Michaels around $3 million for his return.
During a recent Monopoly Events Q&A session, JDC (formerly Fandango in WWE) revealed that while attending an NXT show, Michaels mentioned that he might not be entirely done with wrestling.
“You know who I talked to last week who said he’s got one or two matches left in him? Shawn Michaels,” JDC shared. “He’s the reason why I got into the business, so, honestly, it’d probably never happen, but that would be my dream match with Shawn.”
Michaels has remained focused on his role as the head of NXT creative, where he has been instrumental in the brand’s development. His last major on-screen appearance came at Saturday Night’s Main Event in January when he delivered Sweet Chin Music to Kevin Owens.
While there is no official word on whether Michaels would actually step back into the ring, his comments have fueled speculation about a potential final match in the future.
