Sami Zayn Vs Kevin Owens Set for Unsanctioned Match at WWE Elimination Chamber – WWE has officially added an Unsanctioned Match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to Elimination Chamber on March 1 in Toronto, Canada.
During the February 17 episode of RAW, Zayn challenged Owens to a match in their home country, citing their long history and unfinished business. However, WWE General Manager Adam Pearce initially refused, reminding Zayn that he had not been medically cleared. Zayn refused to back down, insisting that he would not leave the ring without the match being made official.
Pearce ultimately granted the match but added a stipulation—because of Zayn’s medical status, it will be an Unsanctioned Match, meaning WWE will not be held responsible for what happens inside the ring. The stipulation allows both competitors to fight without restrictions, turning this into a potentially brutal encounter.
The animosity between Zayn and Owens escalated on the January 29 episode of RAW, when Zayn lost an Elimination Chamber qualifying match to CM Punk. Immediately after the match, Owens stormed the ring and hit Zayn with a devastating package piledriver.
Owens later posted a video on social media, explaining his attack. He accused Zayn of betrayal, claiming that Zayn had refused to help him win the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble.
With their storied rivalry reigniting in one of the most dangerous match types, Zayn and Owens are set to settle their differences in front of their home-country fans at Elimination Chamber.
