Ricky Saints Vacates DEFY World Championship – Ricky Saints has officially relinquished the DEFY World Championship after recently signing with WWE.
DEFY Wrestling shared a clip on social media in which Saints announced that, while winning the championship was an honor, he had to vacate the title due to a new opportunity. Saints confirmed that the next champion will be crowned at DEFY Aftermath through the eight-man DEFY Super 8XGP tournament.
Previously known as Ricky Starks, Saints captured the DEFY World Championship by defeating KENTA at DEFY Hundredth on February 7. However, he did not get the chance to defend the title before making his WWE debut on the February 11 episode of NXT. The following week, WWE introduced his new ring name, Ricky Saints. He then competed in his first WWE match on the February 25 episode of NXT, teaming with Je’Von Evans to defeat Ethan Page and Wes Lee.
With Saints now focusing on his WWE career, DEFY will move forward in determining its next world champion.
