Penta Reflects on Competing as a Singles Wrestler in WWE – Penta has quickly made his mark as a singles competitor in WWE following his debut on the January 13 episode of RAW. Since defeating Chad Gable in his first match, he has continued building momentum with wins over Pete Dunne and Ludwig Kaiser. While WWE has primarily showcased him as a solo act, his AEW run saw him thrive alongside his brother, Rey Fenix, as one of the top tag team wrestlers in the company.
Ahead of the Royal Rumble, Penta spoke with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri (via SHAK Wrestling) about the transition to singles competition. He emphasized that he feels comfortable in both roles but highlighted key differences in his approach.
“I’m very comfortable because Penta myself in the ring is more aggressive, more violent, more different style around the world,” Penta said. “But when my brother is with me with the tag team, it’s different, more dynamic, more special, more high-flyer. This is the difference, but I feel comfortable with both.”
Penta’s aggressive style has already made an impression on WWE audiences, and with his singles success so far, it remains to be seen whether he will remain on his own or reunite with Rey Fenix down the line.
