Kevin Owens Misses WWE RAW Despite Being Advertised – Kevin Owens was advertised for the February 17 episode of WWE RAW but did not appear, raising questions just days before his unsanctioned match against Sami Zayn at WWE Elimination Chamber.
During RAW, Zayn issued a challenge to Owens for a match in Toronto, but General Manager Adam Pearce reminded him that he was not medically cleared. Despite this, Zayn refused to leave the ring, leading Pearce to grant the match under unsanctioned rules, meaning there will be no restrictions.
However, Owens’ absence from RAW stood out, considering WWE had promoted him for the show. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted on the Fightful Post-RAW show that Owens was supposed to be there, but for unknown reasons, he never appeared.
“I thought that this [segment] played very well [and] that this worked out excellently. Kevin Owens was supposed to be on this show. He was advertised for it,” Sapp stated.
Owens last appeared two weeks ago when he attacked Zayn after his Elimination Chamber qualifying loss to CM Punk. A week later, Owens posted a video explaining his actions, accusing Zayn of betraying him by not helping him win the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble.
With his match against Zayn now official, Owens’ absence from RAW has only added intrigue ahead of Elimination Chamber. WWE has yet to address why he wasn’t on the show.
