Federal Prosecutors Drop Criminal Investigation Into Vince McMahon – Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have dropped their criminal investigation into Vince McMahon, which examined whether he attempted to cover up multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
McMahon’s lawyer, Robert W. Allen, confirmed the decision in a statement to The New York Post, emphasizing that the case’s conclusion was expected.
“This is simply the result of an appeal of a procedural matter that was argued five months ago,” Allen stated. “We have been in consistent communication with the government since that time and understand, with no ambiguity, that the investigation has definitively concluded and will not result in charges.”
The development follows a recent federal appeals court ruling, which determined that a former attorney for McMahon improperly withheld documents from a grand jury. That grand jury was investigating McMahon’s multi-million dollar settlements with two former WWE employees who accused him of sexual misconduct.
While McMahon has maintained that the matter is settled, a separate grand jury investigation remains ongoing.
Additionally, McMahon settled an SEC case on January 10, agreeing to pay a $400,000 civil penalty and reimburse $1.33 million to WWE for Securities Exchange Act violations.
Meanwhile, Janel Grant has amended her January lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The lawsuit includes allegations of sexual assault and trafficking, claiming WWE was aware of McMahon’s actions and Laurinaitis’ involvement. The amended lawsuit remains active.
