Drew McIntyre’s Future Plans Revealed – Drew McIntyre appears to be making his return to WWE television on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. His status had been uncertain throughout the week, especially after his absence from Monday’s RAW, but multiple reports now indicate that he is expected to be at the show.
McIntyre’s frustrations following the Royal Rumble were well-documented. Reports suggested that he was upset with a fellow wrestler for prioritizing their moves over match storytelling. Additionally, PWInsider.com noted that his elimination was originally planned to happen earlier in the match, but due to timing issues, the sequence was delayed.
WWE sources now believe that McIntyre’s move to SmackDown will soon be official, with one source indicating it could happen as soon as tonight. Although he was not present at RAW earlier this week, he has remained in communication with WWE following his abrupt exit after the Royal Rumble.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that McIntyre is set to feud with Damian Priest on SmackDown. He also stated that WWE still has plans to build toward a match between McIntyre and Cody Rhodes. That bout was originally planned for 2023 but was scrapped after Rhodes did not win the WWE Championship that year.
If McIntyre does make the jump to SmackDown tonight, it could signal the start of a major storyline shift as WWE sets the stage for WrestleMania 41.
