Damian Priest Says Cody Rhodes’ Reaction Proved He Fears a WrestleMania Match – Damian Priest looks ahead to WrestleMania following his qualifying for the Elimination Chamber.
On Friday’s WWE SmackDown, Damian Priest main evented the show in an Elimination Chamber qualifying bout that also featured Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman. Priest would win the bout, joining John Cena, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul in the match.
In a new digital exclusive posted to WWE’s YouTube channel, Damian Priest reacted to his victory in the match.
“Well, first thing is, I feel like my insides are broken. Two of the biggest, baddest men I’ve ever been in the ring with. Still, Damian Priest wins. Come Chamber, I mean, we’re talking about one of the biggest Chamber matches of all time. I mean, just look at the people in it. I’m right there in the match with them. This is my time. This is where I go into that match and guarantee my spot at WrestleMania.”
Byron Saxton would then ask Priest about his interaction with Cody Rhodes and if he can share what Rhodes said to him when they shared the ring.
“No. I’ll leave that between he and I. But I’ll tell you what his face said. His face says he does not wanna face this Damien Priest at WrestleMania. He doesn’t want his name to live forever because of me. Come WrestleMania, it’s time for my infamy.”
