Backstage News on Ricky Starks, Miro, and Malakai Black AEW Releases – A recent report has provided further details on the unexpected departures of several high-profile wrestlers from All Elite Wrestling, including Ricky Starks, Miro, and Malakai Black.
According to Fightful, the trio of wrestlers had been seeking to leave AEW for a while. As of February 10, 2025, all three were removed from the AEW roster page, signaling their exits from the company.
Malakai Black, whose original AEW contract was expected to run through 2027, had been looking to leave for some time, according to Fightful’s sources. Despite his long-term deal, Black’s desire to depart became evident months ago. Miro, who has not competed since 2023, was reportedly healthy and cleared to wrestle but had not been featured in AEW’s creative plans for quite some time. His contract, originally set to expire in 2026, also appears to have been part of the recent changes.
Ricky Starks had been requested to leave AEW at the end of 2023. He had asked AEW not to pick up his contract option, but the company did so regardless. Starks, while absent from many broadcasts since, continued to work through his deal, which was set to end in a few months.
Fightful’s report further confirms that none of the three wrestlers are under non-compete clauses, meaning they are free to sign with and compete for any promotion immediately.
