Wade Barrett to Fill in for Pat McAfee on January 20 WWE RAW – Wade Barrett will step in for Pat McAfee on the January 20th episode of WWE RAW. McAfee, who has been a key member of the WWE RAW commentary team, will be absent due to his commitment to ESPN’s coverage of the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship game on January 20.
During the January 17th episode of WWE SmackDown, Barrett confirmed that he would take over McAfee’s spot for Monday’s broadcast. Barrett, who initially joined the WWE RAW commentary team in August 2023, made a brief move to SmackDown in February 2024. Following Joe Tessitore’s addition to RAW in September, Barrett returned to RAW in the same month.
Barrett’s recent move to SmackDown, alongside Tessitore, was made during the January 10th episode of the show. With McAfee’s absence on RAW, Barrett will resume his role on the show, bringing his unique commentary style back to the flagship program. Fans can expect Barrett to deliver an engaging and energetic broadcast alongside Michael Cole.
McAfee, who returned to WWE RAW with the premiere of RAW on Netflix, is scheduled to return to his regular commentary duties in future episodes.
