Viewership Numbers for 1/17 WWE SmackDown

Viewership Numbers for 1/17 WWE SmackDown – The January 17 episode of WWE SmackDown drew 1.403 million viewers, according to Programming Insider. This marks a slight decline from the 1.436 million viewers the show garnered on January 10. Despite the dip in total viewership, the show performed well in the key 18-49 demographic, earning a 0.42 rating, an improvement from the 0.40 rating recorded the previous week.

SmackDown once again topped Friday night cable ratings, overcoming competition from the NBA game between the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics on ESPN, which attracted 1.154 million viewers with a 0.36 rating.

This week’s episode opened with Rey Mysterio declaring his entry into the Men’s Royal Rumble. Kevin Owens interrupted, urging Mysterio to choose him as a potential WrestleMania opponent. However, tensions rose when Mysterio reminded Owens that he wasn’t a champion, leading to a match later in the show. Owens ultimately defeated Mysterio in singles action. Afterward, Owens attempted to deliver a package piledriver, but Cody Rhodes intervened to prevent further damage.

The night also featured a tag team bout where WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley and Naomi overcame Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. In the main event, Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship by defeating Bayley, rounding out a packed evening of action.

SmackDown’s ability to lead cable ratings shows its continued strength despite a slight viewership dip. With the Royal Rumble approaching, the brand’s storytelling and key rivalries are sure to keep fans engaged.
