His final match came on January 16 at the AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage taping, where he faced “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match.
As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Daniels, 54, will continue contributing to AEW in a significant backstage capacity. He will remain the company’s Head of Talent Relations, a role he has held since AEW’s inception in 2019. Sapp noted that Daniels had been considering wrapping up his in-ring career for some time.
Daniels’ wrestling career spanned numerous promotions, including Ring of Honor, TNA/Impact Wrestling, and AEW. As part of SCU alongside Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky, Daniels helped shape AEW’s early tag team division. His accolades include reigns as ROH World Champion and TNA X Division Champion. In 2024, Daniels briefly served as AEW’s interim EVP before Kenny Omega’s return at Worlds End.
