Tom Pestock Makes GCW Debut Against Josh Barnett – Tom Pestock, formerly known as Baron Corbin in WWE, made his highly anticipated debut in Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) at The People vs. GCW on January 19th. Pestock squared off against Josh Barnett in a brutal Bloodsport match at the historic Hammerstein Ballroom.
From the opening bell, both men showcased their grappling prowess. Pestock quickly targeted Barnett’s leg, trying to gain an early advantage. The match was tightly contested, with neither competitor able to maintain control for long. Barnett lifted Pestock with a back suplex, before trapping him in an ankle lock. Pestock managed to power out, firing back with a suplex of his own.
The hard-hitting action continued as Barnett delivered a series of clubbing blows, but Pestock responded with powerful strikes of his own. Barnett then targeted Pestock’s legs with vicious kicks, but Pestock refused to back down. He landed a series of strikes and followed up with another suplex on Barnett.
Despite Pestock’s resilience, Barnett once again locked in the ankle lock, and this time Pestock was forced to tap out, giving Barnett the win.
This match marked a significant moment in Pestock’s career, as it was his first bout outside of WWE. Pestock, who entered free agency on January 1st after WWE chose not to renew his contract, proved he is ready to make an impact in the independent wrestling scene.
