Omos Set for Royal Rumble Appearance – WWE is bringing back a star who has been absent from television for months—Omos. According to reports from PWInsider and Fightful Select, the company is bringing Omos in for this weekend’s Royal Rumble event. However, it remains unclear whether he will compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
Fightful noted that his name had been discussed as a potential entrant, but no confirmation has been made. WWE officials were reportedly impressed with Omos’ stint in Pro Wrestling NOAH, particularly his willingness to travel to Japan and his performances in tag team matches.
Omos officially wrapped up his time in NOAH at the January 25 event in Osaka, marking the conclusion of his brief but impactful run with the promotion. His time in Japan saw him involved in notable tag team bouts, further establishing himself outside of WWE.
Since facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39 in 2023, Omos has primarily worked WWE live events rather than televised matches. Under Vince McMahon’s creative direction, he was regularly featured on television alongside his manager, MVP. However, his last WWE match occurred on the April 5 episode of SmackDown, where he competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
With Omos now back in WWE, it will be interesting to see if he plays a role in the Royal Rumble or if the company has other plans for him moving forward.
