Matt Riddle Discusses His TNA Turning Point Debut – Matt Riddle made a surprise appearance at TNA Turning Point on November 29, filling in for Trey Miguel, who was unable to attend due to travel issues. Teaming with Zach Wentz and KUSHIDA, Riddle faced Ace Austin and The Hardys in a six-man tag match. The babyface team ultimately lost when Jeff Hardy pinned KUSHIDA after a Swanton Bomb.
According to a report from Fightful, Riddle’s involvement came together quickly. TNA officials told the outlet they were pleased with the live crowd’s reaction to Riddle but did not confirm plans for future appearances.
Speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling, Riddle explained how the last-minute booking happened. He noted he was still waiting for payment, mentioning TNA’s delayed payment structure:
“I’m not under contract with them or anything like that. I saw a company in need and my friend Zachary Wentz needed help. His boy was out. I’ve teamed with him and Jeff Hardy before, but I had never wrestled The Hardys as a team. It was a cool opportunity I didn’t want to pass up. They spoke highly of me, but right now, my home is MLW. Thankfully, MLW supported my decision. It wasn’t about chasing money—it was about helping out friends.”
Riddle added that he appreciated TNA’s professionalism and left the door open for potential future appearances, though nothing is currently planned.
His willingness to step up reflects both his passion for wrestling and loyalty to his peers. Fans remain curious whether this cameo could lead to more in TNA.
