In the Arena:
Joe Tessitore is in the ring with the two title belts in front of him. Joe mentions his interview with Cody last week and then the attacks on his journalistic integrity by Kevin Owens. Joe brings out Kevin Owens.
Joe tells Kevin it has been difficult to look past Kevin’s actions. His threats and attempts to injure, but Joe has thought about what Kevin said and he says he would like to give Kevin the opportunity to be heard. Joe asks what is being missed with him and Cody.
Kevin asks if this is Joe’s way to make amends for last week and make it up to him? Kevin says all Joe did was care about Cody’s feelings and being a Cody Rhodes fanboy. You aren’t the only one to disrespect him. Punk, Rollins, and Cody talked about facing each other at Wrestlemania, but they ignored that Kevin Owens will be winning tomorrow night.
Joe says he will not apologize for interviewing Cody. He says he will apologize if the coverage has not been fair. Joe says this is Kevin’s chance.
Kevin asks Joe if he thinks he is tough and Joe says he does not.
Kevin says he does not accept the apology and he can shove it up his ass. Kevin says he is here to tak his title back and he will take the other one next week. Kevin says he is done.
CM Punk’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.
Punk plays to the crowd and Kevin keeps his gaze firmly on Punk.
The crowd says words that cause the sound to be muted by USA Network, but they stop before Kevin or Punk speak.
Kevin asks Punk if he can help him.
Punk says he can’t help Kevin and he isn’t here to help. He apologizes for interrupting. He says it isn’t his show, but he heard his name and he thought it was an invitation. Punk says he is sorry if Kevin thought he was looking past Kevin. He does not think that Cody will automatically win. Punk says WHEN he wins the Royal Rumble (and he says it again), and if you make it past a very angry Cody Rhodes, the main event of Wrestlemania could be Kevin Owens, the champion, versus CM Punk. Man to man, Punk says he is coming for Kevin. He congratulates Kevin if he wins and he says it won’t last long.
Kevin says he feels very conflicted now. On one hand, there are a lot of guys in the match he likes more than Punk. He says there are 29 other guys in the match he likes more than Punk, and he doesn’t know everyone in the match. The thought of you and him in the main event of Wrestlemania. What sounds good is the thought of him beating Punk’s ass in the main event of Wrestlemania. Kevin says he knows what main eventing Wrestlemania means to Punk. It is a dream you have had since you were a kid. That is why last year was so tough because you were hurt. Ten years ago, you probably lamented you would never main event Wrestlemania. Now, it is at your fingertips. The idea of you never getting to main event Wrestlemania is so good to him.
The thought of you never getting to achieve that goal or dream. Kevin says it gives him a warm, fuzzy feeling that Punk will think about what he could not achieve while Kevin is a multiple time main eventer. He looks forward to going to his grave a miserable main. Kevin says he hopes Punk doesn’t win.
Punk asks Kevin where is he going. He says his bad for setting high goals. You are tough and one of the best. Punk says he hasn’t, but someone else did. He has never lost five title matches at the Royal Rumble. Punk says it was Kevin. Punk says he has never lost to Logan Paul. Punk reminds Kevin that he has. He has never tried to manipulate his best friend to help him win a title because he wasn’t confident enough in his abilities. Punk says he does it himself. Two things have to happen for them to meet in the main event of Wrestlemania. Punk says he has to throw 29 people Kevin likes more than him to win the Royal Rumble. You have to beat a very pissed off Cody Rhodes.
There is only one thing to get his ass kicked by CM Punk and that is get back in the ring. He says he may never main event Wrestlemania, but he will kick Kevin’s ass.
Kevin drops the mic and his title belt, and he goes to the floor and grabs his title belt and leaves.
