LIVE 1/3 WWE SmackDown Results

LIVE 1/3 WWE SmackDown Results – We begin with what happened last week between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens to set up their ladder match at the Royal Rumble.

We are live from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona for the premiere of the new three hour format of WWE SmackDown! Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring to start the show.

Cody says he would normally ask what do you want to talk about, but he says everyone wants to talk about the same thing.  Timing is a funny thing in life as well as in this industry.  WWE is on the cusp of changing everything and it starts tonight with a three hour Smackdown.  Raw going to Netflix and Cody says his excitement is tempered ever so slightly.  As much as he would like to be involved, he is not cleared to wrestle.  Cody says he is not cleared to wrestle because of Kevin Owens.  He says Nick Aldis and management are concerned that he is here, but at the Royal Rumble he will be competing with Kevin Owens in a ladder match.

RAW Superstar Drew McIntyre interrupts and makes his way to the ring.

Drew looks into Cody’s eyes and he hugs Cody.  Cody is confused.

Drew says he is not here to hurt Cody, he is here to help him.  Drew says Cody is not on his list.  He says Cody is about to screw up his entire life’s work.  Everything you have done and all the dues you have paid to get to the top of WWE and be the centerpiece as the company moves to the future.  This is the best generation of WWE with the best wrestlers.  He says Cody is the quarterback of it all.  He says Cody is about to screw it up and Nick Aldis won’t clear him.  He says he knows how it feels to be held back.  Some guy is walking around with a replica belt like one of the fans.  That man is being called the champion at house shows.  Drew says he can see that Cody needs a friend.

Cody stops Drew, and he says that he hears Drew saying he wants to help him and not hurt him. Drew says he always tells the truth.

Cody tells the resident truth teller that he would love to tell the truth back.  He says he saw Drew carry WWE through its darkest time.  Both of them had to leave and come back to finish their stories.  He says Drew has become a beast on the mic and in the ring over the last few years.  Cody says he would love to say that because he doesn’t believe Drew.  He says he can feel the tension.  Cody says let’s cut right to it.  Do you want to lay hands and do you want me to put the title on the line?  Let’s do it.

Drew says as similar as they are, he says they will forget them when they are gone.  Drew says he is not here to hurt Cody, he is here to help him.

Drew gets to the apron and he tells Cody he needs to watch his back.

Kevin Owens hits Cody from behind. Kevin kicks Cody in the neck but Cody fights back and he kicks Kevin. Officials run and try to break the two up but they continue to go at it. The two are finally separated and Kevin Owens leaves the ring area.

She says her glow isn’t just a look, it is a reminder that in all of us, there is a light.  We are beautiful and powerful and can change the world, just by being in it.  She says she wants to be a living reminder that we don’t have to live life the way we are told.  We will not be pushed around by the fear in our mind, but in the dream in our hearts.  She says she does the impossible.  She says she changes the environment around her.

In the Arena:

Paul Heyman is in the ring and he says he wanted to come out here before Monday to set the record straight and do it on the record.  On Monday, we are going to find out one thing, who is the real tribal chief?  Paul says let’s be transparent.  Roman and him trained Solo to become the next in line.  They taught Solo how to become the Tribal Chief.  They trained and prepped Solo for the time in the future, the future, when Roman was ready to step down as the head of the table, the head of the family, and the head of the WWE.  Then Solo would be tribal chief.

After ten years of lusting for revenge against Seth Rollins, he could not turn down that lust and that revenge on Seth Rollins gave Cody the chance to get that three count on Roman Reigns.

That is where Solo seized the moment.  That is where Solo stole the ula fala from Roman’s bag.  That twisted son of a bitch did not earn that ula fala, he stole it from Roman Reigns.  He got rid of Jimmy Uso, he got rid of the wise man.  No sane man would acknowledge Solo.  Solo got his band of these filthy animals who don’t belong in professional wrestling.  Tama Tonga, not welcome in the US.  Tonga Loa not welcome in the US.  Jacob Fatu, not welcome outside the US prison system.  Solo got these men because none of them were going to acknowledge Solo.

Monday, live on Netflix, Tribal Combat.  No rules other than there must be a winner and there must be a loser.  The winner of the match will be your Tribal Chife, the only tribal chief, Roman Reigns.

Before Paul can leave the ring, Solo Sikoa’s music plays and he comes to the ring.

Solo stands in the middle of the ring and Paul says he is about ten seconds from pissing his pants.  Why?  Because the last time they did this, when he said you weren’t his tribal chief, you put him through a table in front of his children at MSG.  If he blinks wrong, Tama and Fatu will come out and the same thing will happen tonight.

Solo holds out his hand for the microphone and Paul reluctantly drops it in Solo’s hand.

Solo tells Phoenix to acknowledge him.

Solo says it is finally time for Paul to acknowledge the truth.  You owe CM Punk a favor.  How about Solo owe Paul a favor.  He says he needs someone to hold the ula fala during the Tribal Combat match.  Someone he can trust and someone who loves his family and won’t disrespect his family or the ula fala.

Solo says if Roman beats him on Monday, Solo says Paul will put the ula fala around his neck and Solo says he will acknowledge Roman as the tribal chief.  Solo says when he beats Roman, and he will, because everyone knows it.  You will put the ula fala around his neck and everyone will know that he owns this and he owns you.  He says Paul will be his wise man forever.  Then Roman will have no choice but to finally acknowledge him.

Solo gives the mic back to Paul. Paul puts the mic on the mat and leaves the ring.

We Take a Look at Motor City Machine Guns:

1/3 WWE SmackDown Preview

Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso will be joining forces with Sami Zayn to take on Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga of The Bloodline in the main event of tonight’s show. The issues between the six men have remained no secret over the course of the past few weeks, with tensions running high between them as they’ve encountered each another in a series of attacks and matches.

Nia Jax will be putting the WWE Women’s Championship on the line against one of her longtime rivals, Naomi. Not only did Naomi previously unsuccessfully challenge Jax for her title on the November 15 episode of “SmackDown”, but Naomi and Bianca Belair retained their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Jax and Candice LeRae on December 20 before the former two women and Bayley defeated the latter two women and Stratton during last week’s edition of the show.

Shinsuke Nakamura will be competing in a WWE ring for the first time since retaining his United States Championship against LA Knight at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames as he collides with Andrade in a non-title match. Nakamura and Andrade have had no shortage of issues with one another over the course of the past few weeks, with the former defeating the latter in another non-title match on the November 29 episode of “SmackDown”.
