Injury Bug Hits WWE, Several Stars Sidelined – The recent surge of injuries in WWE has raised concerns, as multiple stars are now out of action. During a discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez highlighted the troubling trend, pointing to injuries sustained by JD McDonagh, Dakota Kai, and Apollo Crews over the past week.
Dakota Kai is currently sidelined with a concussion, while JD McDonagh is recovering from broken ribs and a punctured lung sustained during his World Tag Team Championship match on the January 27 episode of RAW. Apollo Crews also joined the list after an injury during his January 26 match on SmackDown against Johnny Gargano.
Alvarez provided details on Crews’ situation, stating, “He took the back cracker, and I don’t know if it’s his pec or his shoulder. Yeah, he was hurt.” Meltzer added, “He was grabbing his shoulder,” further suggesting the injury’s potential location.
Crews, who defeated Gargano in his last appearance, has been building momentum on SmackDown, making this setback particularly unfortunate.
This marks three significant injuries in just seven days, a concerning trend that could impact WWE’s storytelling and roster depth as the Royal Rumble approaches. With key players already out, WWE will need to adjust its plans for the upcoming premium live event and beyond.
We wish Dakota Kai, JD McDonagh, and Apollo Crews speedy recoveries and look forward to their returns to the ring.
