Grayson Waller: WWE Poised for Something Huge with Netflix Move -WWE’s upcoming transition to Netflix has the wrestling world buzzing with anticipation, as the shift is expected to bring significant changes to the company’s programming. Among those eager for the new chapter is SmackDown star Grayson Waller, who shared his thoughts on the move in an interview with The West Sport.
Waller highlighted the expanded reach WWE will gain with Netflix’s massive subscriber base. “It’s super exciting,” he said. “The fan base on Netflix is already a lot bigger. We’re going to be in so many more homes. Pretty much everyone—their mom, grandma, cousin—everyone has a Netflix account.”
He also expressed excitement about the creative freedom WWE will enjoy by moving away from traditional network television. “Not having those constraints of a television network is kind of the way I think about it,” Waller noted. “I think Netflix believes in the WWE product, and WWE is ready to deliver something huge. I think Netflix is the perfect home for it.”
Waller also explained that, despite some buzz that WWE RAW would be edgier on Netflix, he’s going to remain family-friendly with what he said.
“… At the end of the day, we still want families to come to the show. We still want you to bring your son, your daughter,” he said. “So Grayson Waller is going to say some mean things, but he’s going to be very careful about what he says.
The switch to Netflix comes as WWE RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and Premium Live Events will all be available on the streaming platform. With the move slated to begin in January, the debut episode of RAW on Netflix is set for January 6, kicking off what could be a transformative year for WWE.
Grayson Waller’s optimism reflects the potential for innovation and evolution in storytelling, presentation, and fan engagement. With network restrictions lifted, WWE’s future on Netflix holds promise for fresh creative directions and a broader audience reach.
