Elias on Potential WWE Return, Wrestling for AEW or TNA – Elijah, formerly known as Elias in WWE, started a new chapter after the company released him in 2023. He has been wrestling on the independent scene in recent months, but he has yet to compete for AEW, TNA, or another major promotion.
During a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Elijah was asked about AEW, TNA, and NJPW and whether they were places he would want to wrestle.
“When I left WWE, I was like, let me just relax, right. Then a buddy of mine, Sami Callihan, he was like hey, come on out to one of our shows, wrestle our guy ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey, just have some fun and see how you feel.’ Went out, had fun. I was like, ‘Oh, yeah.’ I think I told you, for the last months of my career in WWE, I was beating on the door, trying to have fun, make something happen, and it wasn’t happening. So to go out to an indie show, have some fun, doing the things I’ve always wanted to do, put me right back into it. So I’ve been enjoying that, man. If AEW or TNA or Japan or something like that, if an opportunity comes up, maybe take it, see what they’ve got to say, but there’s no rush or anything like that,” Elijah said.
Elijah was asked about his WWE run.
“I thought it was awesome, a lot of great stuff. I had a lot of incredible, very memorable moments for me personally and probably for a lot of people. I loved it. Elias can and could and should do so much more in WWE. They only scratched the surface with my capabilities. I had a lot of great moments, some incredible guys to go up against,” Elijah said.
Elijah also responded when one of the hosts said that his best years were still ahead of him by bringing up a potential WWE return. He pointed out that Carlito and Drew McIntyre, among others, returned to the company and noted that he was not writing it off.
“I’d love that. Look, you see how the business works by now. You could be gone, Carlito was gone for ten years, look at Drew [McIntyre]. These things happen, for sure. Everybody has their own little story. I’m not writing it off. It’s not an immediate, man, I gotta do that. But if the opportunities come up, sure, we’ll see,” he said.
During the signing, Elias also noted that he had a lot of confidence in what Elias could do. He stated that he thought you could put Elias in any arena anywhere and he’d make it work
As of this writing, there is no word on if or when Elias will return to WWE.
